Charter:
As a market leading wireless messaging infrastructure and software provider, Simplewire is met with many challenges to stay ahead of the game. The Simplewire™ Wireless Messaging Network currently supports 400+ networks in over 150 countries. To achieve 99.99% uptime and sustain operations — from its carrier network that handles millions of messages per month to the backoffice systems that track those messages — the payment processing system cannot falter. Simplewire needed a robust transaction processing system that would be both highly available and revenue driven.

Solution:
While creating a web application for Simplewire that would allow its customers to purchase software online and manage all aspects of their account, Solvaris successfully integrated it seamlessly with the Simplewire™ Wireless Messaging Network (WMN) so that its geographically distributed network of servers would be propagated instantly with customer data, effectively activating the customer and unlocking their software. Due to the client-server architecture, and the nature of text messaging, Simplewire's software authenticates and connects via TCP/IP to the WMN where messages are tracked and reported back to the web application for various account management features such as available message balance and billing detail.

Payments must be processed by the web application, which is both an online and offline batch processing system. In order to keep active accounts billed accurately and on a timely basis, daily batch processes are designed to secure payment from customers that are on staggered billing cycles. While Simplewire offers many payment methods, major credit cards are processed directly to merchant banks through Verisign Payment Services using their Payflow Pro™ software. Solvaris' ability to meet this unique requirement and invoice customers on staggered billing cycles — without the need for intensive manual labor — enabled Simplewire to streamline cash flow and generate recurring, predictable revenue streams.
