Since its inception in the United States market, the demand for Custo-Barcelona
has increased dramatically. During this time it became a favorite in Hollywood
on both big screen and on television; featured on "Suddenly Susan", "Friends",
"Dharma & Greg" and MTV and also worn by stars such as Julia Roberts in
"Runaway Bride" and Natalie Portman in the movie "Anywhere But Here." In
addition, musicians such as: The Dixie Chicks, Sarah McLachlan and LeAnn Rimes
have been regularly spotted in CUSTO... Since its introduction into the US both
celebrities and wardrobe designers have been snapping up the hottest
Custo-Barcelona designs for both their professional and personal wardrobes.
As Custo-Barcelona's exclusive online distributor, TopTops needed a site that would
be capable of fulfilling the orders for both U.S. and international customers.
Solution:
Once again, Solvaris teamed up with Avasio, Inc. to leverage its award-winning design capabilities.
With Avasio located just a few blocks away from one of Custo-Barcelona's flagship retail outlets
in the heart of downtown NY, it would provide the inspiration needed to capture the Custo retail shopping experience.
By far the most notable technical achievement worth mentioning - a custom .NET Web Service written in C#
which allows toptops.com to work seamlessly in conjunction with the best 3rd party shopping cart platform in use today: UltraCart.com.
Using SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) and XML, the Solvaris UltraCartAPI ties into the backend of
UltraCart's enterprise database, allowing Solvaris to seamlessly integrate and provide features that would
otherwise be impossible. TopTops' staff manage nearly a thousand products from one central administrative web application
where Solvaris employs the UltraCartAPI to couple its robust online catalog management sytem with the order processing
and fulfillment capabilities of UltraCart. TopTops' cost savings are significant because they overcome a common
pitfall with any 3rd party shopping cart: redundant manual entry of products into inventory.
